A Moment in Time

Afternoon blue fades, horizon pales

Grey skies clutch the clouds in autumn rain

His eyes strike like lightening, thunder rages

dwell within the shelter of embrace

raindrops lash upon lips

in ghostly dance the rising mist forms

beads of crystal lingering on warm skin

diving deeper, gasping for breath

his eyes drown me under surging waves

flooded by his fury, grasping at tides

in the sweetest sinking of my surrender.

To my curious artist, who contemplates

angles with a discriminating eye

Brushing the canvas, he colors rainbows

ashen and black

Drowning in azure blue, I know the

angelic pout of a sensitive soul.

"What?" " When?" "Why?", he asks.

Looking up from the Gita, softly

I whisper "Namaste", smile and continue to read.

How can I explain the unknown?

Spiraling around our hearts

the universe.

Yin and Yang melt in embrace.

Each blink of an eye photographs a memory

captured in the mind.

Weaving his pictures

they are dark and obscure as night

He is sand lured by the waves of the sea

and what he sees is illusion

Each minute cell holds cosmic soul

Our fragile frame of fragmented stars

explodes on dusty brain, DNA debris

a blueprint of the universe

buried deep in the nucleus of being

We carouse distant galaxies

revolve about illusion sun

Illumined sparks as comets

glaze midnight skies.

Asleep, we are space travellers

with passports to the moon

dreaming reality.

Once the subject mainly of science fiction writers, time travel is being seriously considered by physicists such as Stephen Hawking. There is an alluring strangeness to the cosmic symphony that may encompass time travel, higher dimensions, quantum superspace, and parallel universes. A moment in time is NOW.
